We are estimating that the company would thus be shipping the new iPhone 12 smartphones later in October following a September launch. However, the iPhone 12 release date in India may get further delayed to November 2020 (if not December 2020 or early 2021). While the company hasn’t officially shared any particular reasons behind the delay, many have hinted at the current global health crisis. Several media reports have claimed that the company was unable to send its engineers for the final approvals to China leading to an inevitable delay in the production process.
iPhone 12 Series to Launch in Two stages
Curiously, this has led to a situation where Apple will now be releasing the iPhone 12 series smartphones in two stages. The series will include four different smartphone models featuring three screen sizes including 5.4”, 6.1”, and 6.7”screens. We are likely to see two iPhone 12 models with a screen size of 6.1”. It has been cited that the suppliers have already begun shipping the SLP mainboards for the phone’s 6.1” screen version while the SLP boards for 6.7” and 5.4” models will begin the shipping around late August. Apple is reportedly going ahead with the sole 6.1” screen model in the first stage of iPhone 12 launch. Due to the constraints in the supply chain, it will launch the 5.4” and 6.7” iPhone 12 series smartphones later in the consequent weeks.
iPhone 12 Price in India
The aforementioned models of iPhone 12 series are also likely to further differ in their specs and prices too. Going by the company’s usual naming scheme, 5.4”, 6.1” and 6.7” iPhone 12 models would be named iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. iPhone 12 in India is expected to be set at a starting price of around Rs. 74,900. Moreover, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will most likely be priced around Rs. 109,999 and Rs. 119,999 respectively. Additionally, the second 6.1” screen size iPhone 12 will apparently be called the iPhone 12 Max. But, we are not yet sure of the price difference and major specs that will differentiate the two 6.1” models.
Key Features and Expected Specs of iPhone 12
Unsurprisingly, all the iPhone 12 phones will offer support for 5G connectivity features besides the OLED screens. On the other hand, while the two more affordable iPhone 12 models will sport a dual lens camera setup while iPhone Pro Max will feature a triple-lens rear camera setup. But, all the iPhone 12 models will feature 3D depth-sensing technology. Interestingly, iPhone tipsters have also claimed that the new iPhone 12 actually looks like the iPhone 4 series in terms of design. Moreover, iPhone 12 will offer smaller notch as compare to its predecessor, iPhone 11 notch. Additionally, the phone will be powered by the A14 processor with a basic RAM of 4GB. Moreover, the upcoming iPhone 12 series is also likely to offer storage variants with 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB internal memory for its four smartphone models. But, in another disappointment it has been widely reported that the company won’t offering earbuds or a power adapter with its upcoming iPhone 12 pack. But, besides these few details, not much is known about the upcoming iPhone 12 line up.
