WhatsApp issued the October monthly report in order to comply with latest IT rules and made the revelation. The report highlighted-

More than 8.1 lakh accounts got banned for violation of rules or policies. WhatsApp  blocks accounts when users report harassing or spamming linked to the same.

The new guidelines for safety are in accordance with the Rule 4(1)(d) of  Information Technology Rules of 2021. The  messaging platform released the user safety  report. The accounts that git banned had been receiving frequent complaints from users.

The report also mentioned that Whatsapp is  dedicated for providing safety for the users. It released a statement saying, “Over the years, we have consistently invested in Artificial Intelligence and other state of the art technology, data scientists and experts, and in processes, in order to keep our users safe on our platform.” WhatsApp mentioned that for detecting spam or fraud users, it employs automated methods. Its abuse detention system  on-platform works stage wise as per account- lifestyle: registration, messaging, and response to any negative feedback.
